The Sunshine Coast Writers and Editors Society welcomes the writing community to a lively discussion about Travel Writing at its Thursday, March 24, meeting. The event will take place at 7 pm at the Sunshine Coast Arts Centre, 5714 Medusa St., Sechelt.

Panelists Elizabeth Rains and Barb Rees will talk about Well Targeted Travel Writing. A question and answer session will follow.

Elizabeth Rains taught travel writing for more than fifteen years at Langara College and Capilano University. Her travel stories have appeared in Westworld Magazine, Going Places Magazine, International Living, the Vancouver Sun, the Ottawa Citizen, and many other publications. She currently teaches editing at Simon Fraser University.

Metis author, travel guide, and part-time nomad Barb Rees from Powell River will read excerpts from her many books on traveling in a RV and discuss how to write travel books. Her articles have appeared in “Snowbirds,”,”RV Travel,” “RV West Magazine,” “RV Times,” “Harbors” in-flight magazine, “Senior Living,” and “Métis Whispering Winds.”
