I’m writing this at the Gibsons Legion. It’s just after my second Covid shot, and I’ve been asked to wait 15 minutes to rule out any of the rare adverse side effects. So far I feel great!
Clinic volunteers ushered me to a vaccination station within a minute of my arrival. Less than five minutes later I was chatting with a doctor. While she talked I didn’t even notice the jab of the syringe.
“That’s it,” she said and signed my vaccination card.
It’s a good feeling to know you’re fully vaccinated. You’re not only protecting yourself, but also the people most close to you.
Here I am, smiling under my mask, happy to be fully vaccinated. I was also happy to hear that Canada is at the top of the pack among large nations in the percentage of people who have had at least one dose. As of Monday, 65 percent of adult Canadians were in that group.
