The George Hotel is sending out notices about a meeting at the Gibsons Public Market. The emailed notice says “Come out and support GEORGE!”

It’s interesting that the meeting takes place in the market. I wonder if those who attend will notice the contrast between the proposed design for the public market and the proposed design of the George. The differences are not only in height. The public market design incorporates the traditional character of Gibsons. The George design seems to have a similar character to a Best Western, although many of them aren’t as tall.

The meeting, at 6 p.m. Tuesday, March 25, will provide information about the George development from Town of Gibsons staff.
