Transit systems get far larger subsidies than the ferries

According to a survey on FerryHostage.com the province of B.C. subsidizes

• 15% of ferry travel
• 50% of Translink costs (the transit system in the Vancouver area)
• 65% of B.C. Transit costs (other transit systems in the province)

Ferry travel is transit and should be subsidized by at least 50%. The government can’t claim that a boat isn’t the equivalent of a bus. It destroyed that argument when Translink built the SeaBus.
